Policy on Sustainable Use of Biodiversity and Ecosystems

Our university aims to understand and reduce the increasing biodiversity loss problem and to protect natural resources for future generations. In this context, our university adopts and implements the following policy in line with its mission, vision, and strategies:

To protect and sustainably manage marine, coastal, and terrestrial ecosystems on our campuses and in our region, to protect biodiversity and threatened species on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List and prevent their complete extinction, to stop and repair land degradation,

To develop projects in order to protect endangered species, ensure the continuity of natural resources, support and develop sustainable practices against factors that harm biodiversity such as climate change, habitat destruction, pollution, invasive species and to cooperate with relevant institutions, local communities and non-governmental organizations in these projects,

Our university takes into account legal, administrative, and technical principles regarding the protection, improvement, and sustainable use of natural and artificial ecosystems.
